How many lessons will I need?

The average student has between 30-40 hours of driving experience before they take their test.

What is the syllabus?

The syllabus is based on the guidelines from the Driving Vehicle Standards Agency. However, each student has different abilities and learning styles and so we will tailor the experience to your specific needs.

What car will i be driving?

With Weekend Wheels you will drive either a Fiat 500 Lounge if you are learning to drive a manual car or a VW Golf TDI if you are learning to drive an automatic.

Both cars are fitted with air conditioning, power assisted steering and dual controls. Both are very popular and reliable cars that will meet all your learning needs

Where can i be picked up from?

Weekend Wheels is a friendly and flexible driving school. With notice, we are able to pick you up from your school/ college/ work/ home. Let us know and we will see what we can do.

What if I need to rearrange my lesson?

If you need to rearrange your lesson, this can be done by giving 24 hours notice or the full lesson fee may be charged (See our T&C's for more details).

I have paid for a block booking, started my lessons and can’t continue.

If you have paid in advance for your lessons and now can no longer attend, the lessons you have taken will be charged at the normal standard rate and not the block booking discounted rate. Effectively, you will be refunded the remaining balance after this deduction.

How long is a lesson?

The introduction lesson is 1.5 hours long, this allows us to get to know each other, a chance for you to explain any previous driving experiences and an introduction to the car controls. Each lesson there after usually remains as 1.5 hour lessons as a standard, as this really 'drives' home the learning experience and supports your understanding without feeling rushed or hurried. Some people prefer extended lesson times, this can be arranged.

Will you tell me when I can book my test

You can only apply for your practical test after you have passed your theory test. The practical test may have an extended wait time of around 4-10 weeks. Your instructor will advise you of when you should apply for your test.

Will you help me with my theory test?

As part of Weekend Wheels service, we offer a tool called 'Theory Test Pro'. This tool will support you in your revision for your theory test. Theory Test Pro is offered as a complimentary gift to all students. As well as this, during an average lesson your driving instructor will support you by answering any questions you have about the rules of the road and testing your revision skills by asking you standard theory questions.

Can I take pass plus with you?

Yes, Weekend Wheels is proud to say that we offer the Pass Plus course to students to further develop their driving experience after passing their test. The course includes, all weather driving, night-time driving and motorway experience and more. Having a Pass Plus certificate can significantly reduce your car insurance (subject to insurer).
